DTR have full MOT testing facilities on-site. With 4 fully qualified nominated testers. DTR are able to test class IV vehicles (cars up to 8 seats in capacity). DTR MOT all makes of vehicles including diesels.

The current MOT price is £53.10 - MOT's are VAT exempt. Re-tests are free of charge within 14 days.

Why do we have an MOT test?

We have an MOT test to improve road safety and the environment by examining the main road safety features and environmental features on the vehicle once per year. You are committing an offence if you use a vehicle which needs an MOT certificate and does not have a current or genuine certificate.

Is an MOT a guarantee of the vehicles condition?

The MOT is NOT an examination of the vehicle to ensure that it is in good condition. It is an examination of the majority of safety related items on the vehicle to ensure that they have not worn to excess. It is likely an item which is just acceptable for an MOT could still be considered past is service life at a routine service. The certificate only confirms that the vehicle met the minimum acceptable standards at the time of test. It does NOT confirm that the vehicle will remain roadworthy for the next year.
