DTR can undertake all restoration work necessary to your 124 Spider. We also build cars to your desired specification.
Manufactured from 1966 to 1985 the 124 spider is one of the most versatile sports cars conceived in recent years. Because of its success and production span, variations on the original theme are wide. The first cars were 1438cc made from 1966-1969 and are characterised by their flat bonnets, small rear lights and chrome single piece bumpers, with quarter bumpers to the rear. Mechanically they were initially available as 4 speed although this was soon standardised to 5 speed throughout the production span. Other subtle differences included rear anti-roll and torque tube rear axle.
Disc brakes were standard equipment from the beginning with a small change in servo power having been introduced as the model developed.
1608cc cars were introduced from 1969 (with 1592cc for the US). Characterised by the small bulges in the bonnet, twin downdraught carburettors and around 125 BHP.
From 1973 to 78 the range was upgraded to the 1800, chrome bumpers being dropped in favour of impact units (as demanded by the biggest market- the US). These cars were equipped with substantially reinforced front and rear ends, and triple impact protection bars in the doors. 1978 saw the introduction of 2000cc with revamped interior and Ferrari door handles! The 2000 was manufactured in carburettor form for 1 year only, with Bosch fuel injection being the final standard for the remaining cars up to 1985.

1983 to 85 were manufactured in-house at Pininfarina, the Fiat badges having being droped in favour of "F" or Azzura badges. The interiors were substantially restyled with electric windows, remote mirrors and electric boot release as standard; a luggage shelf also replaced the small rear seats. Exceptions to the standard range included supercharged, turbo charged and lightweight Abarth versions with its characteristic colour schemes and works hard top.
As the largest and most experienced specialists in the UK, DTR can supply any of the above vehicles (subject to availability) as either good quality used cars with our own warranty, or as our renowned "built to order" cars.
Built to order 124s are available in most specifications, with right hand drive as one of the many options. The starting point is an original imported rust free shell, painted in the colour of your choice with upholstery, roof and carpets selected by you. All our vehicles are fully mechanically overhauled with reconditioned engines and transmission as standard.
The top of the range of these is the chrome bumper (i.e. pre 73) 124 with all new suspension (uprated) and brakes as standard.

These vehicles are as close to new specification as is reasonably possible and have been featured in many magazine articles including Auto Italias comparison with the new Fiat Spider the Barchetta.
