Description
Just arrived in our showroom, this beautiful 1958 Alfa 1900 CSS is a fully restored example having had a huge amount lavished on it's restoration over a considerable time.
It presents superbly with great panel gaps and nicely re-trimmed interior.
We've just completed a 50 mile trip to Brooklands which is probably the furthest this lovely car has travelled since the restoration.
The body was restored in Surrey by a reputable specialist and DTR Sports Cars subsequently restored the engine, gearbox and rear axle.
Designed and built by Touring of Milan, the original factory colour was Bianco Aurora with cloth interior and 5 speed column shift gearbox.
Parts are not easy for these rare cars, but all required engine parts were replaced including bottom end bearings, with ground, polished and fully balanced crankshaft, new clutch, new valves, guides and seats + fully rebuilt carburettors with modified linkeages.
The gearbox and rear axle were similarly rebuild with new internals where available and set up by us in our workshops.
The steering box was fully rebuilt with new parts sourced from Argentina contributes to the superb feel of this car once underway.
New tyres on refurbished Borranis complement the overall finish.
Presented in 'ready to go' show condition, this car wants for nothing with the expenditure considerably exceeding the asking price!
