This superb Maserati 3500 GTi is available for sale following an extensive and comprehensive restoration totalling over 2000 hours completed just over 2 years ago.

During this restoration, the body was fully restored. Inititally the body was garnet blasted and zinc phosphate coated to removed all paint and surface material. The aluminium skin was remade and repaired with modern insulating materials and all steel work was either repaired or replaced. This included all new inner and outer sills (inner steel, outer aluminium), floor pans and chassis sections. The underside was triple primed, then coated with a 3M protection before painting. The outer body was primed and blocked by hand with a total of 8 coats of primer, base coat and clear with Blue Sera Glasurit paint finishing.

The mechanics were similarly fully rebuilt in every detail. The engine was remachined with a fully balanced bottom end, all new bearings and parts as required, with remachined connecting rods and new JE custom made pistons. The cylinder head was fully rebuiilt with new valves, seats, guides and lead free inserts. The Lucas injection system was rebuilt by world renowned specialists in Holland. All ancillary parts were rebuilt or replaced including a high torque starter motor and higher output alternator. A discreet auxillary fan was also fitted to the  fullyr rebuilt radiator for better cooling.

The whole car was rewired with a custom made wiring loom and all ancillary electrics were overhauled. Wheels were repaired and shod with new Michelin XWX tyres including the spare. The brakes were comprehensively rebuilt. Calipers with new pistons and remachined, all new copper/nickel pipework front to rear and all new flexible hosing. 

The interior was retrimmed using approximately 7 hides of best quality Tobacco leather and Wilton carpets leather edged.

All chrome and stainless steel was either machine polished or replaced.

A truly exceptional Maserati which has toured Europe and been displayed at the NEC where one journalist considered it to be the  'best car of the show'

Restoration to this standard would take 24 + months from starting and would now cost the best part of the asking price, an opportunity to jump the queue and acquire one of the nicest 3500s around!
